Why We Couldn't Create the Listing We've attempted to create the listing for your item at least three times without success. Unfortunately, the issue is something only you, the seller, can resolve directly with Amazon. After resolving the issue, please let us know how to proceed with your listing as normal. Below, we describe the most common listing issues and steps you can take to fix them.
A common issue clients will encounter when creating a listing is that the created listing will not appear afterwards. It is important that you create and verify that the created listing is present in the system. It may appear after 30 minutes.
To double check if the listing you are having issue with is present:
Go to your Amazon Seller Central and log in
Click on the "Catalogue" drop down
Find the "Complete Your Drafts" link and check if you can find the listing in question.
If the listing appears in your Drafts, please delete that Draft and create a listing manually.
Once the listing is made & Is still visible in your inventory AFTER 30 min, in your Amazon Seller Central, please inform the Prep Center to "Ship to FBA" again, else try again
What it is: Amazon restricts certain products or brands from being listed without prior approval.
Brand Gating: Amazon may restrict entire brands, meaning you must obtain permission to sell items under that brand.
Resolution: Apply for approval directly from the product’s page on Amazon, or navigate to the Amazon Gated Brands Support Page.
Tip: You’ll usually need to provide invoices or proof of authorization from the brand.
Item Gating: Sometimes specific products within a brand are gated.
Resolution: You can request approval on the product page or within Seller Central under the "Add a Product" section. Amazon will guide you through any required documentation.
FAQ:
How do I know if a brand or item is gated?
When you attempt to add the item to your inventory, you’ll receive a notice explaining if the product or brand is restricted.
What it is: The SKU used for the product is invalid or needs to be remapped within Amazon’s catalog.
Resolution: Use Amazon’s SKURemap Tool to update your SKU and remap it to the correct ASIN or product listing.
If remapping fails: Contact Amazon Seller Support for additional assistance. You may need to provide details of your product or invoices to correct the issue.
FAQ:
What is a SKU, and why does it need to be remapped?
A SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is your unique product identifier. If it's not properly linked to an existing ASIN in Amazon's system, you’ll need to remap it.
What it is: The ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) associated with the product cannot be found, or the product does not exist in Amazon's catalog.
Root Cause: A Bad ASIN was provided/added to the Order.
Common Errors are:
Some believe that a ISBN-10 is the Same as an ASIN that can be the case but it is not always the case. It is NEVER an ISBN-13. (ASINs are 10 digits in length.)
The ASIN Provided is for a digital Version of the item, that Amazon will not let you sell.
The ASIN was taken from some where other than the Product's page URL, this is the only place it is 100% correct all the time (or the page could not load).
Below are Examples of where the the ASIN is in the typical Amazon URL's:
in Both Cases the ASIN is '0134093410'
https://www.amazon.com/Campbell-Biology-11th-Lisa-Urry/dp/0134093410/ref=sr_1_4?c...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0134093410/
Resolution: You can search for your product’s ASIN in Seller Central by navigating to the “Add Products” page.
Go to the Amazon Product Creation Tool to start this process.
FAQ:
How can I find the correct ASIN?
Search for the product using a combination of keywords or check your supplier's product details to locate the ASIN.
What it is: Your Amazon Seller account may be inactive or dormant, preventing you from creating new listings.
Dormant Account: Amazon accounts may become inactive if there’s been no recent activity.
Resolution: Log in to Seller Central and check your account status under the "Account Health" dashboard. You may need to reactivate your account by following the prompts or contacting Seller Support.
Suspended Account: Your account may be temporarily suspended for policy violations.
Resolution: Review any notifications Amazon has sent and follow the outlined steps to reinstate your account. Visit the Account Health Support Page for more information.
FAQ:
How do I reactivate a dormant account?
Log into your Seller Central account and follow Amazon’s reactivation steps, which usually involve confirming account details and selling plan.
The Simplest way to Reactivate a dormant account is to change your Credit Card info! ( If you want to use the Same Card you can change it back when done.) This is a quick way to test to see if this is the issue, and it does not negatively affect your account if it is not the issue.
You might need to reauthenticate your Identity as well.
For many of the issues mentioned above, you may need additional assistance from Amazon. Here are some key resources:
Amazon Seller Support:
The Amazon Seller Mobile App is Great to contact support and get an immediate call back, much faster and easier than the seller central Website.
