At Easy Book Prep, our primary goal is to help you efficiently prepare and send your books to Amazon FBA, minimizing your workload. However, when problem items such as damaged, unsellable, or incorrect books are received, your input is crucial to determine the best course of action. Without timely responses, these items accumulate, creating storage challenges and potential fees for both you and our team.
This article outlines our Retention and Storage Policy, which is designed to address these issues while keeping your business profitable and running smoothly.
Managing unsellable or stagnant items is a common challenge, and leaving these issues unresolved has drawbacks for both parties:
For You: Valuable inventory sits idle, tying up your funds and missing the opportunity to generate profit. Stagnant items may also accumulate storage fees.
For Us: Limited storage space impacts our operations, and managing abandoned items becomes time-consuming and costly.
To address these challenges, we’ve introduced a clear and effective process to help both parties move forward with minimal delays.
Initial Notification:
When we receive a problem item, we will notify you promptly, detailing the issue.
Follow-Up Communication:
If the item is unresolved 2 weeks later, we’ll begin emailing weekly reminders to set up an 'Aged Inventory Review' Meeting.
This paid service is designed to help you address issues such as refunds, returns, or replacements within the refund period.
60-Day Abandonment Trigger:
After 60 days, unresolved items are deemed abandoned.
At this point, our Inventory Recovery Service is automatically triggered.
Fee: ~$2/book sent to Amazon, as defined by your subscription or Terms and Conditions.
Process:
Items deemed sellable with minimal risk of bad reviews will be repaired (if needed, may incur additional extended repair fees) and shipped to Amazon.
Items with a higher risk will remain in the warehouse.
90-Day Disposal:
If an abandoned item remains unresolved after 90 days, it will be automatically disposed of unless we receive alternative instructions before the item is disposed.
Most sellers or vendors will only offer refunds or returns within 30 days of purchase. By addressing issues within 60 days, we maximize the chances of resolving the problem while minimizing unnecessary storage.
This policy helps ensure:
Faster resolution of problem items.
Reduced storage fees and inventory clutter.
Increased profitability by recovering and listing sellable items.
Alignment with Easy Book Prep’s goal of maintaining a streamlined FBA-centric service.
