EasyBookPrep’s Amazon FBA listing process is designed to streamline and simplify your experience by creating Shell Listings and then Normal Listings. This phased approach helps prevent listing issues and allows for efficient item processing once they reach our warehouse.
We create "Shell" Amazon Listings with minimal information as soon as we receive your order data well before items arrive at our warehouse. This is done to facilitate faster processing and issue detection. Here’s how Shell Listings work:
Quick Verification: By creating listings early, we quickly verify whether you can sell the item on Amazon, minimizing delays.
Early Issue Detection: If Amazon restricts the listing or there are other limitations, you’re informed immediately. This lets you cancel unshipped orders or resolve listing restrictions with Amazon.
Problem Resolution: Early detection helps you address any listing issues before items are shipped, reducing the risk of disruptions to your sales.
Faster Processing: With the listing framework in place, we can process items much faster once they arrive at our warehouse, saving you time and ensuring rapid availability on Amazon.
Shell Listings appear in your inventory with limited details. Here’s what to expect:
Minimal Information: Shell Listings will have only basic data with generic maximum and minimum pricing but no specific condition notes.
Multiple Conditions: We often create listings in both "Good" and "Very Good" condition based on your preferences, though customization is possible.
Important:
Seeing Shell Listings in your inventory is part of the process.
We also create 2 listings for each ASIN Purchased by Default, Good & Very Good Condition Listings.
This enables faster and more efficient item handling when your items arrive at our warehouse.
Upon receiving and inspecting each item, we update the Shell Listings to complete Normal Listings. Here’s how it works:
With Shell Listings: If a Shell Listing was already created, it is updated to a Normal Listing once we verify item details and grade the condition. This final listing includes full condition notes and accurate pricing.
Without Shell Listings: If no Shell Listing exists, a Normal Listing is created post-receiving, ensuring accurate details before shipment.
It is possible for Amazon to fail to apply the final Listing data that we send Prior to shipping out the items. It has only happened once, that we know of, but if you find that items where shipped to Amazon and the condition notes are not defined. There are 2 ways to resolve this:
Manual Update: You can manually update each item listing to include missing details.
Request Re-run: Contact us, and we’ll re-run the final listing process to ensure all items are updated with correct information, including condition notes and pricing.
NOTE: This will update all of the listing information including the Condition notes and Pricing for all items in the related Batch.
Why do my listings sometimes appear with missing information?
Don't Be Concerned, Seeing these "shell" listings in your inventory is part of our process to serve you better. It helps us help you ensure a faster, more efficient prepping process once your items arrive. Full details will be added upon item verification.
What should I do if my listing shows incorrect or missing condition notes?
If the listing is active with incomplete information, please contact us. We can re-run the listing update process for you or you could choose to manually update the listings.
Can Shell Listings be avoided?
Shell Listings streamline order handling and issue detection. If you prefer an alternate configuration like you creating the listings yourself, slowing down the process, and having more to do, please reach out to our team.
Where can I see updates to Shell Listings?
Listings typically are finalized to fully detailed versions in your inventory right before the items are shipped to Amazon, so assure that the latest information is used.
